Ages 14yr-18yr old
Every Fri. 3pm-4:30pm
This Teen group will have access to learning and practicing many art skills and concepts. By using the elements of art; line, shape, space, value, form, texture, and color, students will have the opportunity to complete many projects this semester. Students can work more independently on their own projects if desired. We promise to have fun together and be creative. Students can support one another. Art relieves stress, encourages creative thinking, boosts self-esteem, and provides a sense of accomplishment. Sounds great? Join us on Fridays and make art! Basic materials are included but personal projects may require additional costs. I do encourage all students to purchase a sketchbook to bring to class with a favorite drawing utensil.
Every Friday AM
Cost-$40/mo- this covers the facility costs and guest instructor fees
This a weekly opportunity for adults to come be part of a like minded art community group. Set aside this time weekly to work on your pieces and have support/feedback from other artists. September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Month. What is FASD? FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) is caused by prenatal alcohol exposure. FASD is a brain-based disorder with behavioral symptoms. It can result in a broad range of cognitive, behavioral, health, adaptive functioning, and learning difficulties. There also may be a significant number of comorbid physical and mental health conditions with an FASD.
NCFASDInformed was incorporated in January 2018. NCFASD Informed has received 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax exempt status. Based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, we will strive to create FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) informed communities of parents, teachers, and health care professionals around North Carolina by increasing awareness around multiple issues.
The mission of our all volunteer, grassroots, nonprofit organization is to create FASD informed communities to empower individuals impacted by prenatal exposure to alcohol. Our vision: a world where individuals with FASD can thrive.
